Yep, it’s Wednesday! I’ve been a busy, busy lady. The month of May is always jammed packed full of stuff. For example….Mother’s Day, our wedding anniversary, dance recitals, prom, field day, track season, and our annual Memorial Day cookout (check out IG for picts of those happenings) And a few other things thrown in there! Today was the Wax Museum for Jenna’s class. One of my favorite things they have in 4th grade!! She was Abe Lincoln….
And here are the girls in their costumes from dress rehearsal…
Now I’m in my office trying to decide on what I should work on next. I have a bunch of baby items to sew up with all of the new bundles of joy that have arrived or will arrive soon! Several cute-as-a-button romper styles for girls or a tiny Vintie Overall for the sweetest little boy who was born over the weekend. Decisions, decisions!! However, I did finish these little items about a month ago but had to wait for warmer weather to snap a few pics. Aren’t they the sweetest girls!!!
And welcome to the club Lilo and Stitch!! My newest character dress is Lilo. Hopefully I can find a large floral print to use for the main listing on Etsy but for now this sample will have to do 🙂 and will be available on Etsy to purchase!!
That’s all for now!! I will share what I decided to make on IG!
Until next time!!
I have been staring at a pile of fabrics for a while. Since we moved in here….2 years ago. Yes. I can’t believe it’s been 2 years! Crazy how time really does fly.
I have so many things I want to make. I have started with printing all of the patterns off and organizing the fabric accordingly. I won’t know until I pick up that particular pile of fabric which sizes I will be making though. So everything is uncut and just in piles. Piles, piles, piles. But I’m determined to make these things and list them!!! Heck, I made 70+ items in 6 weeks time at Halloween. I can do this! There is a special reason I’m pushing myself this year. I can’t spill the beans just yet…but it’s HUGE! Anyway, today’s WOMTW is summer stuff for babies! Cute little denim diaper cover with bandanna shirts. Adorable! Perfect for the 4th of July or just a hot summer day.
Can’t wait for my new little niece to try this on! She is gonna be so stinking cute! This can be a great little sun suit for those who go to the beach but don’t want to put a swim suit on their little girl. Add a hat or a cute little denim head wrap bow and she will be stylin!!! I will have two style of tops to choose from to go with the denim diaper cover. But as always, if you have a preference of a solid color bandanna fabric…I can make that happen too!

Cute little denim sunsuit
Fingers crossed that it warms up soon so the babies don’t freeze during their modeling session!! Once I get modeled pictures I will list it in my shop!! Keep your eyes peeled!!Until next time!
Hi everyone!!! I’m literally up to my eyeballs in orders this season!! Why am I writing a post then? I should be sewing you say!! Well you are correct. I should be sewing all those lovely orders right this very minute! But I wanted to take a moment to say
I’m having the best year ever! Not so great with my blogging…but best year ever sewing for all of you!!! So now back to getting all of the Hulks, Annies, Jessies, and Woodys that seem to be so popular this season. I even made a dog Hulk! So cute!!!
Until next time!
We have already started to talk about Halloween and fall around here. It is our most favorite time of year! Hailey and I have been Pinterest-ing ideas back and forth so we can decide how we’re going to decorate.
So last costume making season….I had a custom request on Etsy to make this Hulk costume. I loved it! There is a great tutorial floating around somewhere (I’ll have to link it at a later time) but the outcome was spot on. I decided to start offering it in the shop on Etsy as of today. Yaay!
Anyway, it got my costume making sew-jo brewing and thinking about what new things I wanted to add to the shop. So if you want to see something or have an idea…comment it! I’m already offering FREE Shipping on all orders placed thru Etsy this month by using code AUG2017. I might just throw your names into a hat and draw for another prize!!!! You can comment here or IG and I will combine the two. Thanks lovely friends!
Until next time,
Since my last post I have sewn up a few more things for my shop. One of them being a cute little romper that reminds me of Beatrix Potter with it’s dreamy cabbage print. Pretty teal, green, blue and purples!!!
There has been an upswing of my friends and family having little girls so I’m sure this one won’t sit around too long. I have more Spring goodies in the works but who knows when I will get to them…..
The kids have been keeping us busy between their events and us trying to keep away from the crud that has been lurking around.
We celebrated Jenna’s 9th birthday with a little surprise snow shower and then a warm beautiful day for her party! This weather has been a rollercoaster ride for sure….
We’ve also been working on the flower beds and getting things completed around the house so we can enjoy our lab puppies that are due to arrive soon!
Here is Ashton giving Omie, Luna, and Bella a treat. I can not wait for furbaby feet again! Its been a while since we’ve had a house full of puppies.
So all in all…we have been busy bees! I have been sewing up a bunch of princess dresses for orders AND a special princess Miss S is going to Disney soon, so we had a cute photo shoot recently (more on that in another post). So thats all for now! I will also write up a short post about Jenna’s awesome unicorn cake sometime soon. So come back and check out all of that magical fun!
Until next time,
Sometimes answers are right in front of you. But you fail to see them. I wasn’t really looking today to make things easier in my sewing but there was a simple answer…right. infront. of. me.
I’m currently working on an order for an Etsy boutique called DreamState. If you get a chance, check her out! It’s an adorable little shop filled with things for babies and brides. Here is one of the pillow covers she printed her adorableness onto.
Anyway, I’m sewing a set of wall hangings for her (to be listed in my shop’s Home Decor supply section soon) and typically I don’t switch out my presser feet. Well, except for buttons, zippers, and some decorative stitching. I would say 90% of the time I use the “main” presser foot. If I need to top stitch or edge stitch I just use that and try my best to keep it even. Ok, hold the phone…WHY? I have a foot with a little guide which is absolutely PERFECT for me to topstitch! Oh my gosh! What a time saver. Which is definitely what I need these days when things get busy. And they are busy..lol!
So I had to share my tiny “right in front of my face” epiphany I had today. This year I will learn all of these parts of my machine that I never use. More things to keep me busy 🙂 Anyway my friends…never stop learning!!!
Until next time,
So there is a theme here. I betcha already know what it is! NEW! Yeah, that’s right! Since we moved, I’ve been trying to get into the swing of things. I’m finding it easier to manage now but somethings are time consuming. Heck, they’ve always been time consuming but its different here. I am such a creature of habit (and evidently so are my kids). No matter if the change is for better or worse, I’m drastically affected. So my dreamy eyed plans of “how it will be when…” didn’t pan out like I thought. I’ll tell ya why. I still have 4 kids who NEED me. Especially when I have work in my *new* office to do. It’s like just because I am in a different room than them…the NEED increases to such a level that its unbearable. Mind you, they are no longer toddlers sticking their little toddler fingers under the bathroom door when you need 5 mins to pee. No, these are kids who have been taught how to be independent and how to keep themselves alive…so they KNOW THINGS. But alas…they reverted back because I wasn’t within an arms reach. I really thought they would have been able to occupy themselves more. They have a nice pool and friends in the neighborhood, so there is plenty to do. Maybe this coming summer will be better….fingers crossed.
Then there is the problem of my workspace got bigger! I have room to store things, room to spread out, room with a view, room, room room! How is this a problem? I still work like I’m in a tiny cubicle, with things piled on top of each other. I wish I could look at my space and immediately know what will be the most effective. I have rearranged a couple of times now and I think I have it right…atleast for right now.
I know, small problems/not a real problem in the grand scheme of things. But this is why I haven’t done what I wanted to do last year with my shop. So this year is going to be what I thought last year should have been! So..I have relisted some favorites in the etsy shop like Jessie
And I have fabric on hand to make Jessie’s pal Woody. So if your interested..send me a message!
Another *NEW* thing is, I have updated etsy to the pattern website, which I love! So many options for layouts to enhance my pictures. I did manage to sew up a *NEW* princess dress when I made a birthday gift a couple of weeks ago. That will be listing as soon as I can get a sweet little 3 yr old to model it. But here is a sneak peek!
I also have a *NEW* Lil Mermaid version to list….
Annnnd I also have these great fabrics for spring I want to cut into.
So if you see something you like…send me a message for that too!!!
Well until next time…
